- Recording Session for the
Tribute Album to The Mississippi Sheiks

Bruce participated in one of
several recording sessions that were held for a tribute album to the
Mississippi Sheiks. Other artists contributing to the album include
Kelly Joe Phelps, Bill Frisell, Van Dyke Parks, John Hammond, Ry Cooder, The Sojourners,
Ndidi Onukwulu, Del Rey, Madeleine Peyroux and Robin Holcomb. The
project is produced by Steve Dawson.
The CD is scheduled for a world-wide release on October 20, 2009.
We arrived at the studio at about
7pm and left around 11pm. The song that Bruce chose to cover is called,
Honey Babe Let The Deal Go Down. Instruments on the track are: guitar
(Bruce), drums (Matt Chamberlain), keyboards (Wayne Horvitz), bass
(Keith Lowe), trombone (William Carn), and Weissenborn and electric
guitar (Steve Dawson). The CD is
expected to be released on October 20, 2009 on the
Black
Hen Music label.
